From Strategy Analytics service operator Strategy's latest research report "global cellular market: 5 g promising, but the total revenue and profit flat", according to a May 2024 g will account for 26% of wireless service revenue, users related to 5 g subscriptions will reach 924 million, but the share will not improve the overall performance of the stagnant global wireless market.
The report also predicts that the 5G market will take off in 2021 as network coverage improves, mobile phone prices fall and use cases mature.
While some markets have increased revenue through 4G services, the long-term global outlook remains that most countries are finding that 4G is at best a buffer against consumer expectations driven by competitive pressures between operators -- more data traffic at lower monthly cost, Strategy AnalyTIcs said.Between 2012 and 2018, when 4G grew from 4 per cent of all mobile users to 61 per cent globally, service revenues grew by less than 1 per cent.5G's impact will be equally disappointing.
