FLUKE network announces the launch of its m12-x adapter for the DSX CableAnalyzer™ family of network cabling authentication tools. The m12-x is a standardized connector designed specifically for harsh Ethernet environments that supports up to 10 gigabits per second. The new adapter supports connecting DSX family products to cabling systems with m12-x connectors for testing and troubleshooting prior to initial operation.

"As a leading supplier of industrial Ethernet cabling systems, Panduit is well aware of the need to test cabling systems prior to initial operation," says Michael Verbeek, senior product management and engineering manager at Panduit.Even when customers and contractors use the highest quality components, variables in the installation process can cause problems ranging from intermittent network failures to full-blown network failures, leading to unexpected outages.Certification of installed cabling to industry standards during deployment can shorten initial run times and prevent costly outages due to cabling.

FLUKE network DSX CableAnalyzer product series is the industry's leading wiring system tools, support the most comprehensive wiring test certification, including 8 classes and the single-mode and multimode optical fiber cables, grade, conform to the telecommunications industry association (TIA), international standards organization (ISO) and association of electrical and electronics engineers (IEEE) standards. The DSX CableAnalyzer family of products has been endorsed by more than 30 cabling manufacturers worldwide for the certification of installed systems. The DSX CableAnalyzer family is able to perform rigorous testing and report "pass/fail" results, and has complete diagnostic capabilities that can significantly reduce fault diagnosis time."Studies show that more than half of industrial Ethernet failures can be traced back to wiring problems," said Walter Hock, vice President and general manager of FLUKE networks. For example, connector failure, cable or shielding layer fracture, electromagnetic interference or moisture, and cable does not meet the specification requirements or long too long. The DSX CableAnalyzer family can now ensure that installed cables are suitable for industrial Ethernet environments before the machine starts operating, or quickly diagnose and troubleshoot problems in the event of failure."
